Privacy Policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

This policy explains what information Sonari AI collects through this website and the Sonari mobile app, how we use it, and the choices you have. The short version: we never ask for your bank login, we don't sell your data, and we don't show ads.

1. Information you give us on this website

  • Waitlist. Your email address and the date you joined, so we can tell you when Sonari launches and apply your founder pricing and referral rewards.
  • Contact form. Your name, email address, and message, so we can reply to you.

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies on this website. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and running.

2. Information the Sonari app handles

  • Your entries. The expenses, income, accounts, budgets, goals, installment plans, and subscriptions you create — including amounts, merchants, categories, dates, and notes.
  • Voice recordings. When you log by voice, the recording is sent to our servers to be turned into text and then into an entry. Sonari's servers don't keep the recording once it has been processed.
  • Typed text and Ask questions. Text you type to log an entry, and questions you ask Ask Sonari, are sent to our servers to be answered. To answer a question, Ask uses the entries you've logged.
  • Payment notifications (Android, optional). If you turn on automatic import and grant notification access, Sonari reads payment notifications from your bank and wallet apps on your phone. They are turned into entries on your device, and the resulting entries are saved and synced like any other entry.
  • Account and device identifiers. A sign-in identifier and a device identifier, so your entries can sync across your devices.
  • Purchases. Your subscription or lifetime purchase status. Payments are handled by the app store — we never see your card details.
  • Crash and diagnostic reports. Technical information when the app crashes or an error occurs. These reports are designed to exclude what you say and the amounts you log.

3. How we use information

  • To run the app: turning what you say or type into entries, syncing them, and showing your totals, budgets, and insights.
  • To answer your Ask Sonari questions from your own entries.
  • To send reminders you've set up, such as upcoming renewals and installment due dates. These are scheduled on your phone.
  • To keep the service reliable — fixing crashes and checking the quality of AI results.
  • To contact you about the waitlist, your account, or messages you've sent us.

We don't sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.

4. Service providers we rely on

We use trusted providers to run Sonari. They process information only to provide their service to us:

  • Speech-to-text (Groq, Deepgram) — to transcribe voice recordings.
  • AI models (Google Gemini, Anthropic) — to turn text into entries and to answer Ask Sonari questions.
  • AI quality monitoring (Langfuse) — to review how well entries are understood, so we can improve accuracy.
  • Sign-in (Supabase) — to identify your account across devices.
  • Purchases (RevenueCat and the app store) — to manage subscriptions.
  • Crash reporting (Sentry) — to find and fix errors.
  • Website, forms, and email (Google Sheets and Gmail, Cloudflare) — to store waitlist sign-ups and contact messages and to deliver email.

5. What we never do

  • Ask for your bank login, card number, or access to your bank account.
  • Connect to your bank — automatic import only reads notifications already on your phone, and only if you turn it on.
  • Sell your data or show you ads.

6. Storage and retention

Your entries are saved on your phone first, so Sonari works offline, and are synced to our servers so they're available on your other devices. We keep your entries for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, we delete the entries stored on our servers.

Waitlist emails and contact messages are kept until we no longer need them to contact you, or until you ask us to delete them.

7. Your choices

  • Export all of your entries to a CSV file from the app's settings.
  • Delete your account and its data from the app's settings.
  • Turn permissions off at any time — microphone, notification access, and notifications — in your phone's settings.
  • Leave the waitlist or ask us to delete your contact message by emailing us.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your information, or to object to how it's used. Email us and we'll help.

8. Security

Information is sent to our servers over encrypted connections. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and limit who can access it.

9. Children

Sonari isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page if our practices change and revise the date at the top. For significant changes, we'll let you know in the app or by email.
